Revision as of 21:18, 5 March 2009

There's some (rather cool) idea to meet each other. Users of #electronics could finally meet in real life. ;-)

So first of all it's the matter of who would like to be the part of this meeting, second thing is where could it possibly be... To setup the meeting place, domen started up the map available under URL: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF&msa=0&msid=113279147561001867825.00045e8e2bcbef5fc99c0

If you're interested about the meeting, simply mark your location on our map - we'll meet in the middle of it.

BTW. the meeting-date is also open for discussion, so... Stay tuned!

Proposal (also from domen) is: Maybe we could meet somewhere in the middle in summer or so? I'm saying "why wait so long!" (I==pit). Mic moans about being busy start of next year. Anyway - let's discuss it on IRC. Conclusions will be posted here as well.

We (some of us..) suggested Berlin as a meeting place. A friend of mine say there should be good "elecronic" vibes at a place called "C-Base" http://www.c-base.org/ for more info. I dont know about the place, but if we choose Berlin, it could be in consideration to visit the place.

Date

  • before june 1st or mic can't come, also... if we wait too long noone will bother with this now, and we'll have to re-do everything then
  • around may 1st, since it's weekend prolonged by holiday in many countries?
  • Lex: my bday is on May 1st. I'm on a short trip (to London) from April 29th till May 2nd. So for me it has to be either before or after that trip, with a few spare days infront and after it. (or in london around 1st? ;-) -domen)
  • iirc khelben said 2nd half april, or later.

Preference

Can you please tick...

  • '***' for "I really want to go here" (can use only once),...
  • '**' for "this would be ok for me" (can use multiple times), and...
  • '*' for "this would be bearable, I spose" (can use multiple times)

...in the following table? Place with most '*'es wins.

Cost of return-travel

Can you please fill this in (#EUR that takes you to this place and back)? If left open, "EUR0" assumed. Put price of "both ways travel together" in here.

Note: this table exists because it is assumed price is a major criterium in deciding where to go; if you don't give a toss, perhaps you can leave it blank (EUR0).

Note: 1GBP ~ 1Euro at the moment

Note: Stanstead (STN) airport is in the middle of nowhere, avoid this if you possibly can
