What's this all about?
In the need of a TV furniture I decided not to pay a lot for any fancy sets...
DIY log
Seems like one could just buy some cheap piece of furni and rebuild it into something better...
I took the cheapest IKEA table available (LACK, about 3EUR). I will cut the top board apart and make a two shelves TV table from it.
Some simple tools i've used on the table...
Firstly i had to drill a hole (cables thru-hole gap so that i can press the ready table to the wall). It is drilled 30cm from the edge (upper shelf's depth).
Paper filled board required drilling from both sides separately.
Then, after cutting the board apart (30cm wide), I had to fetch new mounting holes for the moved table legs.
The board is empty inside, so I had to install leg-mount supports. The original table-top board probably had some sort of these installed in the corners as well.
Made of some wooden blocks, installed inside and the legs are now screwed tightly now (using the original LACK set mount screws).
All four legs are fit well at this point. No need to finish-up the back side of the table as it will be pressed against a wall anyways.
The complete product - with the remaining piece of the original LACK table top glued in as a media shelf (17.5cm deep).
